Inside Out 2 (2024) – Growing Up Isn’t Easy, But It’s Worth It
I finally watched Inside Out 2, and honestly, it made me feel a lot of things. I laughed, got a bit teary, and even sat quietly for a while after it ended. Pixar really knows how to touch your heart without trying too hard.
The Story
Riley is now a teenager, and that means new challenges. Her old emotions — Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust — are still around, but now there are new ones too, like Anxiety, Envy, and Embarrassment.
And wow, Anxiety feels so real. She’s not bad, just a little overprotective, like that voice in your head that worries too much.
What I Liked
What I liked most about Inside Out 2 is how honest it feels. It shows that growing up doesn’t mean you stop feeling scared or sad. It just means you learn to live with those feelings.
The animation is beautiful. Every scene is bright and full of life. There’s one quiet moment near the end with soft music playing, and it really made me think about my own teenage years.
What Could Be Better
Some parts in the middle felt a little slow. The story repeats a few ideas, especially when the emotions argue. But it still works because the movie’s heart is in the right place.
The Message
There’s a lovely message here: all your feelings matter. Even the uncomfortable ones.
That’s something I wish more movies taught kids — and adults too, honestly. It’s okay to not have everything figured out. Sometimes it’s enough just to feel and keep going.
My Final Thoughts
Inside Out 2 is warm, funny, and full of heart. It made me remember how confusing growing up was, but also how important it is to be kind to yourself.
